The most annoying thing about reinstalling your operating system is the fact that you will lose all your important data. There are, of course, ways of avoiding such an annoyance. One of them is to use RecImg Manager, a tool that creates a backup image of your Windows OS and applications, then uses that backup image to restore your operating system and applications.

RecImg Manager is a tool that works on any device powered by Windows 8. Desktop computers and touch devices powered by Windows 8 are supported.

RecImg Manager has a beautiful, full-screen interface. Two large buttons are presented on this interface: Backup and Restore.

Backup – click this button to create a backup image of the Windows operating system and the applications that are installed on it. Creating an image is a simple three step process: step 1 – select a destination drive; step 2 – enter snapshot details (name and description); step 3 – start the backup.

Restore – click this button to restore the Windows operating system and the applications that are installed on it by using a previously created image. Just choose an image and then launch the restore process.

From the Options menu you can set it so that images will be created automatically, based on a schedule – every week, on Sunday, at 1AM for example.
From the same Options menu you can set it so that old images are automatically deleted.

RecImg Manager is free software.

Create a snapshot of your OS, use that snapshot to restore your operating system and your applications. This sort of very useful functionality is offered by RecImg Manager.

Pros

There is nothing complicated about getting RecImg Manager up and running on a regular or touch device powered by Windows 8. RecImg Manager has a beautiful, full-screen interface. Click on Backup to create a backup image of the Windows operating system and the applications that are installed on it. Use that image to restore the operating system and the applications installed on it. RecImg Manager is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
